Hi - Sarah here, thanks for visiting!
Since performing my first wedding in 1999, I have travelled extensively with Irish bands and shows, playing for audiences worldwide. I founded ‘Irish Wedding Music’ in 2022, having built up a large network of musicians for over twenty years. It is a hub of talented Irish Musicians who have played together for many years. I’m very grateful to work with some of the best musicians in Ireland to provide professional, quality music for events at home and abroad.
Before I started ‘Irish Wedding Music’, I ran a Music Academy in Dublin and co-founded the Irish Institute of Music & Song, Balbriggan. This background in managing musicians gives me a unique perspective on each wedding I plan in creating the perfect atmosphere for every wedding and event. I love getting to know couples and bringing to life how they envisage the music for their special day.
Bio
Irish Fiddler, Violinist & Singer Sarah May Rogers, is an active member of the Irish Folk Scene and regularly collaborates with original artists at home and abroad for live performance, studio recording and festivals.
A Professional Musician, Manager and Music Educator, Sarah has been providing live entertainment for events and weddings for 25 years, and performs as a multi-genre session musician.
With a Bachelor of Music Degree from N.U.I Maynooth, and a Diploma in Instrumental Teaching from the ABRSM, she was the Principal Violinist with the Island of Ireland Peace Choir and Musical Director of the Fingal Poetry Festival. Founder & Managing Director of the award-winning Cadence Music Academy, one of the original Co-founders of the Irish Institute of Music and Song, Balbriggan.
Sarah has been teaching Violin for over fifteen years. She has studied different musical styles and enjoys teaching in a positive way, to bring out the best in students and help them to become confident performers.
She has performed in venues all across Ireland, the U.K., France, Germany, an Irish Tour in the U.S., shows on Cruiseships in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, gigs in Las Vegas and in Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.
Corporate events include working with companies such as Google, UCD, Jameson Distillery, Guinnesses. Most notably at the World Leadership Summit, New Zealand and for President Higgins at the Centenary Commemorations in 2016, Dublin. TV appearances include The Late Late Show, Nationwide & BBC's Great Railway Journeys. Festival appearances include Electric Picnic, Vantastival, Spirit of Folk & Longitude.
